BOTSWANA
Americans can enter with proof of a negative PCR test performed no later than 72 hours before departure. Those who arrive with symptoms or without a test will have to quarantine at their own expense for 10 to 14 days, with another test done in the second week. Additional tests may be required for interstate travel, based on regional requirements. To leave the country, passengers must present a negative PCR test within 72 hours of scheduled departure. According to the US Embassy in Botswana, the test regulations “are not clearly published or implemented, so expect an inconsistent application of the rules and sudden unexplained changes in their application”. In addition, the response time to PCR tests in the country does not reliably meet the 72 hours required to board a flight to the United States.
BRAZIL
Passengers over 2 years of age arriving by air must have written proof in Portuguese, Spanish or English of a negative RT-PCR test performed within 72 hours before the flight and complete a passenger health declaration. (Children under the age of 12 are exempt from the test requirement if all their traveling companions tested negative.) Those arriving on land must have a Federal Police clearance and a note from the US Embassy or Consulate and proof of a plane ticket home. Once approved to enter, you must go directly to the airport.
BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
Passengers aged 5 and over must have a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test within five days of arrival; another test will be given on landing at Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport. Visitors must wear a bracelet monitoring device and take the approved transport to their accommodation, where they will be quarantined for four days. At that time, another RT-PCR test will be administered and, if negative, the quarantine is over. A $ 175 fee covers the cost of testing and monitoring. Proof of travel insurance with comprehensive medical coverage is required. A certificate of travel authorization must be submitted between seven and two days before the trip.
BURKINA PHASE
Visitors must take a negative Covid-19 PCR test in English or French upon arrival in Ouagadougou not later than five days. Those arriving without a test will receive a quick test at the airport at a cost of $ 155 and will be detained until the results are available. A negative PCR test dated within five days is also required to fly from the airport.
CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
American tourists must be quarantined for 14 days upon arrival. While the country does not require a negative PCR test, some airlines may require boarding.
COLOMBIA
Americans are allowed to enter with proof of a negative Covid-19 test, performed within 96 hours of flight departure. There are no quarantine requirements for those with pre-test. For those who are allowed to board the aircraft without documentation, Columbia will require tests and possibly a quarantine for 10 days or 7 days with a negative test three to five days after arrival. All passengers must complete an immigration form, according to the US Embassy in Colombia.
COSTA RICA
The country is open to all U.S. citizens without testing and without a quarantine warrant, however, insurance that includes coverage of at least $ 50,000 for coronavirus-related medical problems is required. There must also be additional coverage of $ 2,000 for expenses due to a pandemic illness or travel interruption or cancellation due to illness. A digital Health Pass must be completed 48 hours before boarding a flight to Costa Rica.
