The changes to the privacy policies that WhatsApp has announced for this year have sparked several criticisms among internet users that have led to the search for platforms and applications that maintain privacy and security when using them.
This is reflected in accelerated growth of downloads on platforms that claim to be much more private and collect less information.

Among them all, one of the beneficiaries is the search engine DuckDuckGo, Google’s rival, which announced last week that it has surpassed for the first time in its 12 years of existence 100 million searches in one day.
This figure represents, according to the values published by the company, a double increase compared to the average searches carried out on a day in January 2020.
DuckDuckGo has a premise because it is on the market: maintaining the privacy of its users, since then does not collect any information about the person’s activity, as is the case with other browsers.

Among its options, this platform works as an extension of Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari, where it has the alternative of blocking trackers and encryption. Likewise, there is a browser alternative for Android and iOS devices.
The company said they they do not make stories of people browsing their search engine, which allow you to create a profile so that the data is not used for any advertising purpose.
It also includes features that Google has for maps, local business answers, images, videos, question-and-answer relationships, currency conversions, sporting event data, and flights.
