A report points out that by 2020, about 50% of Chinese migrants worked as traders in the Dominican Republic, while 36% were employed in the private sector.
Research by the Dominican Center for Chinese Studies (Cendoesch) shows that 14% of migrants from the People’s Republic of China were involved in various activities such as culinary arts, engineering, teaching and medicine.
