The Latin American Steel Association (Alacero) presents the web seminar “Health and well-being in projects and structures – SDG 3”, a virtual meeting for construction professionals and students of Latin American schools of architecture who want to learn more about how to who manage health and well-being issues in architectural projects, under SDG 3 – Health and Welfare of the UN Agenda 2030, the theme of the 14th Alacero 2021 Steel Architecture Competition.
The webinar will focus on transforming the industry towards creating and developing healthy and sustainable buildings. Set for April 20, at 22:00 UTC (19:00 in Brazil and 17:00 in Colombia), it will have as its main pillar the Third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), one of the 17 set by the United Nations General Assembly in the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In addressing the topic, the event will bring projects and tools that can be used by students as suggestions or inspiration for their projects in the context of the region.
The webinar will be hosted by Juanita Álvarez, Head of Engagement and Networking at the World Green Building Council, which focuses on encouraging collaboration between Green Building Councils globally and regionally. Specializing in sustainability for construction companies, Juanita holds a master’s degree from New York University in corporate communications and seeks to promote the transformation of the construction industry toward sustainability by sharing best practices and impacting the organization through global projects.
