US President Joe Biden today addressed reporters from the White House, where he lobbied Congress for immediate action on his $ 1.9 trillion plan to combat COVID-19, a plan that includes an economic stimulus check, additional for $ 1,400.
As reported by Reuters, Biden assured that “we must act now because there is consensus among economists … and it is that at this unique moment the cost of inactivity is high.”
Regarding Republican backing, Biden assured that he supports the plan with consensus among the party, “if possible. But the relief for COVID must go without ‘buts’.”
Meanwhile, according to Forbes, Democrats are preparing to introduce a process of budget reconciliation so they can pass the third check without needing Republican backing.
“We have learned from the past that risk doesn’t do too much, but too little,” adds Biden.
President Biden speaks of his economic plans:
‘We cannot and do not want to make people go hungry. We cannot expel people because they have not done anything themselves. We cannot see people losing their jobs. We must act. We have to act now. ‘ pic.twitter.com/WYgjMiUXMa
