Suits for the former, power-ups for the latter
Not every day we receive two amiibo stories!
As we reach both, Monster Hunter Rise is undoubtedly the leader here, as Capcom has just explained what the amiibo trio will do in their new Monster hunter video breakdown.
As a reminder, it will be delivered together with Magnamalo (monster), Palamute (dog) and Palico (cat) amiibo, all of which offer a different feature. The first one unlocks the Magnamalo flavored armor for your hunter, amiibo Palamute will in turn give you a new Palamute cosmetic style, and the second one (you guessed it) is paired with a Palico product. You can analyze all this in the gallery below.
Notably, there is another bit that is easy to miss on the site: “you can also play a daily lottery to win various useful items.” This is usually a preserved type of amiibo functionality feature that dates back to antiquity Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is possible that any amiibo will work as a kind of lottery chance.
Oh, and we also have more idea of what Super Mario 3D World: Bowser’s Wrath functionality will involve, thanks to a new landing page of the website. Simply, the bottom section of amiibo (which involves Cat Mario and Cat Peach figures at the moment) states: “Use the adorable new amiibo Cat Mario and Cat Peach figures to unlock powers.”
“Unlock power supplies.” I’m sure some of you who are not collectors will be relieved to hear that it is non-essential. That being said, the Cat duo has been readily available since it was prepared for pre-order, while Monster hunter the numbers are still related to GameStop (and they’ve been on sale online ever since, but it’s also GameStop, so I’m hesitant).
