“We are going to tighten the screws,” says the health minister about measures at the airport

The Secretary of the Ministry of Health (DS), Carlos Mellado López, assured in an interview with WKAQ 580am that they will ‘tighten the screws’ at Luis Muñoz Marín Airport, on Isla Verde, in light of the rebound in cases of coronavirus, COVID-19 on the island.

“We are going to tighten the screws. Today we will sign an order to restrict access. And to ensure that everyone entering Puerto Rico has a negative PCR (antigen test),” said the doctor.

He was concerned about the number of cases and deaths from the disease.

“There is hospital capacity, but it is certainly worrying. We are also still seeing the aftermath of the past few weeks,” he added.
