Washington Capitals-Philadelphia Flyers postponed due to COVID-19

The Washington Capitals-Philadelphia Flyers game on Tuesday was postponed due to COVID-19 issues on the Flyers, an ESPN confirmed source.

The Flyers are now the fifth NHL team to break. The Buffalo Sabers, Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild and New Jersey Devils all had games postponed this week due to the COVID-19 case groups.

Last week, the NHL improved its safety protocols in the arena, including imposing greater social distance in locker rooms and removing glass from behind benches for increased air circulation. The NHL has also tried to force players to get to the rink no less than an hour and 45 minutes before a game – although the league has softened its position in this regard due to significant player push.

The NHL tested players and employees daily with PCR tests, but began applying to faster tests in arenas, especially on game days.
