Wapa strengthens Puerto Rico’s ties with the new image

If “como tú Puerto Rico” seemed a phrase of national pride, even more so “Wapa is Puerto Rico.”

This is the slogan that the television station launches today in the interest of consolidating and celebrating ties with the roots of Puerto Rico, as detailed in a press release.

The new corporate identity is presented along with a 90-second “jingle” that viewers will be able to see during today’s broadcast of the “Patched Noon” program. It will be launched, more precisely, at 12:00.

“We have been working on this great project for three months and we are extremely excited and deeply proud of it. For years, Wapa has been the channel in Puerto Rico. Viewers were part of their family. We are promoters of Puerto Rican and international talents, expanding our programming and exhibiting our artists from the diaspora. For those living outside of Puerto Rico, we are their emotional connection to their land, “President Jorge Hidalgo wrote.

As part of the new image and corporate evolution, the channel’s facilities are labeled with the new logo that integrates the motto. Likewise, the website www.wapa.tv, social networks, staff uniforms and all visual materials that identify Wapa take him to Puerto Rico.

“Puerto Ricans are proud of their flag and island. With this new image, we want to celebrate the evolution of Wapa with the country. We want to recognize the history of the canal, its people, the experiences we share, show the beauties they have here and remember to the spectators that they are part of our history and that Wapa is Puerto Rico ”, added the executive.

One of the first people to learn about this initiative was Governor Pedro Pierluisi, who was pleased with the recognition given to Puerto Rico. “I thank WAPA TV President Jorge Hidalgo for his visit to La Fortaleza to introduce me to the new Canal campaign that highlights Puerto Rico as a tourist destination,” the governor said.

The original concept was conceived by the president, while the production was led by the Promotions Department of Wapa Televisión. The song of the campaign was in charge of Pepe Ojeda, who wrote it and made the musical arrangement, while Juliana Ortiz created the choreography.

For this campaign, Wapa talents were registered throughout the island. Some iconic places visited were: Old San Juan, La Parguera in Lajas, Parque de Bombas in Ponce, Laguna del Condado, Hacienda Carabalí in Río Grande, Cerro Mime in Orocovis, Finca Friday in Utuado, Lechonera Los Amigos in Cayey, Villas del Mar Hau in Isabela and Cueva del Indio in Arecibo, among others.
