WandaVision’s Debra Jo Rupp explains why she doesn’t want to watch Avengers: Endgame

The first three episodes of WandaVision are now available for viewing on Disney + and have featured an interesting cast. A big name joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the new series is Debra Jo Rupp, who is best known for her role as Kitty Forman on The show from the ’70s. ComicBook.com recently spoke with Rupp about her sitcom days and revealed that she doesn’t mind missing the ’70s episode of WandaVision. I also asked Rupp if she was familiar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe before joining it and explained how she went from not knowing anything to being too attached to certain characters to watching them. The Avengers: End game.

“I didn’t know anything,” Rupp said of the MCU. “I thought it was a cartoon, I thought, well, I knew comic books were involved, but I was never … science fiction is not my thing. It just has to be real in front of me. I felt the same in terms of geometry. There is nothing real about geometry. There are points in plans that I don’t care about. So I didn’t know anything. I knew absolutely nothing. I just knew, you know, my great-grandson said, “Aunt Debbie, if you don’t do this, so I did it for him. And then I got there and got involved and I’m just amazed at how big the world is. I’m amazed at the fans and why they’re breaking up and what they, you know, I mean, I don’t blame them because nothing is as it seems in the Marvel world, but it took me a while to figure it out.

“I had the luxury of a week of rehearsals, which is actually how sitcoms are done. I mean I did everything, it was the way it was done. I did it. So I had a week of rehearsals before I shot So I learned a lot from Paul [Bettany] and from Lizzie [Olsen]. And then they told me what movies to watch. And then I ended up following a whole bunch that they didn’t even tell me to follow because I got involved. I can’t look at the last one, at End game thing, because I feel like people are dying. And so I don’t want any part, no, that’s my age now. I just want happy things. I don’t want to think about that. I just want happy things. So I can’t watch this. I am very happy to be part of this world. I’m really happy. “

I also asked Rupp if keeping Marvel spoilers was difficult, because her usual projects don’t usually involve so much secrecy.

“No, because so few people knew I was in it, so no one asked me. I was like, ‘Hello?’ And then, really, secretly, I know what I did. I mean, I’ve never had a complete script, I mean, I know what I did. And so I made up a story about it. Yes. So we’ll see. “
