Walgreens COVID-19 vaccine scheduling schedule interruption resolved

CHICAGO – Walgreens says its COVID-19 vaccine programming site is up and running again on Tuesday after users reported interruptions earlier in the day.

A Walgreens spokesman said he believed the disruption was caused by an influx of people trying to schedule a meeting, crashing the server.

“We are dedicated to a seamless programming experience to achieve the common goal of vaccinating the most vulnerable populations as soon as possible,” the spokesman said.

The outage comes as US pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS prepare for another million doses of the White House vaccine last week.

To date, more than 32 million Americans have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Walgreens told ABC News that starting Tuesday, they will begin accepting shootings immediately on Friday, giving priority to health care workers, those over 65 and people with pre-existing conditions.
