Wait, there is no AirPods 3? 8 things that Apple has not yet given us at its Spring Loaded event

Short images of possible third generation AirPods.

This story is part of Apple event, our full coverage of the latest news from Apple headquarters.

There weren’t too many surprises at The Apple event in April 2021. The company was expected to release the new packages IPad Pro models, the new M1 iMacs and its old rumors AirTags tracking accessory. We have all this together with a updated Apple TV 4K that was it rumored in February. Oh, and let’s not forget that iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini are now available in purple. But what didn’t Apple announce? Here’s a list of products I’ve been waiting for, including (of course) some that are more rumored to be rumored than imminent or expected releases. However, although we did not think that most will debut today, we could see some even from June 7, when Apple hosts a Virtual conference for developers worldwide.

AirPods 3

Rumors that Apple is ready to launch third-generation AirPods they have been circulating for the last few months, talking about possible delays pushing their launch until the third quarter of this year – speculations that seem more accurate now. Often referred to as AirPods 3, their design, based on possible leaking photos, can share a lot with AirPods Pro but it will not have sound-insulating tips (and may not provide active noise cancellation).

16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 chip

At the moment, MacBook Pro equipped with M1 is only available in a 13-inch model and does not perform much better than M1 MacBook Air (which, of course, is the speed demon itself). Those waiting for the 16-inch MacBook Pro to be updated with the M1 chip, along with a rumored 14-inch Pro model, will have to wait. Again, this type of developer-friendly laptops would be welcome with open arms at WWDC in June, but Apple could wait on an even better chip (M2? M1X?) To power them.

What do we think about the new colorful 24-inch iMac

Larger iMac powered by Apple silicon chips

At the April event, Apple gave us news M1-powered iMacs with flatter models and 24-inch displays (from 21.5 inches). But iMacs larger than 27 inches remain unchanged for the time being, despite rumors that they will go to mammoth screens of 30 inches. Maybe they are also waiting for the supposed M1 successor that I mentioned above.

Mac Pro M1

I waited years to get the latest Apple desktop computer Mac Pro. Now it looks like we’ll have to wait even longer for an updated version of that computer that is powered by Apple’s Intel alternatives. Here again, we expect Apple to expect an even stronger M1 successor, so the delay makes sense.

Apple midrange display

Apple will sell you a 32-inch 6K Pro Display XDR for a lot of money (starting at just under $ 5,000, and that’s worth almost $ 1,000). But Mac Minis owners (and now the iPad Pro equipped with Thunderbolt) are still waiting for something to be little more accessible.

Concurrent Apple Echo Show

After Apple turned off its HomePod speaker, it was rumored to be works on an Amazon Echo Show competitor which merged an entry-level iPad with a speaker. Details remain vague and it is unclear when such a product could be launched. But given that the new iPad Pro includes an ultra-wide camera and Center Stage function which can zoom in and dynamically zoom in on more people talking in a photo, makes it look like Apple could squeeze something without the need for the articulated arm on Echo Show 10.

Apple’s iPad Pro 2021 is an M1 device: Let’s talk about …

Apple soundbar with built-in Apple TV

Another rumored product that makes a lot of sense to create Apple is a sound bar for your TV which has an Apple TV “box” built into it. Roku already offers more sound bars with its built-in smart TV apps, and Apple could easily ring the register on bigger and louder models. In addition to amplifying the sound on your TV, this type of TV speaker combo may allow you to stream audio to a set of AirPods Pro or AirPods Max and use Apple’s virtual audio virtual space surround feature without disturbing others in your household.

Apple AR / VR headphones

OK, no one really expected this much-rumored product to be unveiled today. But that’s the kind of thing – like last year’s Apple Silicon Chips – that Apple could outline a few months before launch to line up developer support. Add a Apple AR / VR headphones at the WWDC rumor mill for now, but again – you can’t even breathe for that.
