Video shows when Ashli Babbit was fatally shot in Capitol

New video shows the moment when a woman was fatally shot as protesters stormed the Capitol on Wednesday.

The one-minute clip posted to YouTube begins with a group of four armed officers running up an ornate stairwell of the Capitol.

They reach a doorway where they join a crowd, many in red MAGA hats and a few fluttering American flags, pushing against a barricaded double door.

Amid much shouting and hustling, a woman with a flag-print backpack, identified as Ashli Babbitt, is seen from behind being lifted by others in the crowd.

She begins to climb through the open frame of one of the doors’ windows, from which the glass has been broken or removed.

Then a loud shot sounds and Babbitt falls backwards into the crowd – apparently shot through the window from the other side, where in the distance at least four black uniformed cops dart in and out the doorways.

A man wearing a suit, tie and identification cord is frantically drawn to the attention of the officers on the nearest side of the door, clutching them by the shoulders and pointing at the dying woman.

She is not visible at that moment and the clip is cut.

A San Diego TV news channel identified Babbitt, a 14-year veteran of the United States Air Force.

Babbit is a strong supporter of President Trump, her husband told the station.
