
When the Pokémon Company announced remakes of Nintendo DS titles Diamond and Pearl earlier this week, the most notable difference was obviously the style of art.
All the sprite activity from the original games has now been replaced with nice 3D graphics Shiny diamond and shiny pearl. Obviously, there has been a lot of discussion about this since then and I even organized a survey yesterday to see what everyone thinks.
Today we present a side-by-side comparison of the 2006 games compared to the 2021 Switch versions, thanks to GameXplain. This clip includes a look at normal playback speed, which is followed by slow playback.
As you can see, there are some things that don’t even appear in the original games – which are completely new (like a Nintendo Switch in the main character’s bedroom, instead of a Wii) and then there are some things that seemingly confirm the content of the Platinum version will be presented. The developer of ILCA and The Pokémon Company say that the cities and routes of the originals have been carefully preserved in the remake. Would you agree based on the comparison video above? Tell us below.
