Vaccinated boulder man at Dr. Moma clinic shares concerns about revaccination process

BOULDER, Colorado. – A few days after the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) said thousands of vaccinated at a clinic in Colorado Springs should be revaccinated, some of those affected are concerned about the potential implications of taking additional doses.

“I just hate being in that position where you’re waiting for someone to recognize what’s going on and give you the answers you’re looking for,” said Chris Nyce, a Boulder resident who received the first dose of Moderna vaccine in March. at the Dr. Moma Health and Wellness Clinic in Colorado Springs.

The clinic was authorized by CDPHE to provide COVID-19 vaccines, but on April 9, the state said they would be discontinued during the investigation.

On Tuesday, CDPHE said inadequate storage at Dr. Moma’s means that nearly 4,000 people should be revaccinated.

The state guide says those who received a dose at the clinic should receive two additional doses. Those who received two doses at the clinic should receive an extra dose.

“I’m worried about getting this third photo, because no one knows what happens if you get a third shot,” Nyce said.

His concerns led him to contact the manufacturer, Moderna.

“Modern in the conversations we had with them said, ‘We don’t recommend you get the third shot,'” Nyce said.

Denver7 contacted both CDPHE and Moderna for more clarity on the discrepancy, but have not yet heard.

The CDPHE press release said it had consulted with the CDC to release revaccination guidelines and, “Due to the lack of clinical data, the CDC does not recommend that people receive more than three doses of any COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of validity.”

Nyce said he was worried that a third dose of the vaccine could affect his ability to get a booster vaccine in the future.

On Thursday, Dr. David Kessler of the Biden Administration said the country should be prepared for vaccine stimulants.

“They prevented us from ever having a booster vaccine because they tell us to get a third vaccine? I don’t know,” Nyce said.

Denver7 will update this story with additional information as it becomes available.
