Urshela gave HR and the Yankees defeated the Braves

NEW YORK – The New York Yankees hit a five-game losing streak on Tuesday, thanks to shots, a wild pitch and a load of bases, in a 3-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Colombian Gio Urshela equalized the score with a homer in the fifth half in front of Charlie Morton, and the Yankees won with five shots, reaching 16 in the last four games.

New York went 8-2 with runners in the scoring position, but improved to 6-10. He still ranks last in the AL East, but avoided what would have been the worst start to the 1972 season.

Tyler Matzek (0-2), who returned to the majors last year after missing from 2015, walked Aaron Hicks at the start of the eighth half. DJ LeMahieu and Aaron Judge followed with two singles that filled the bases.

It was only the second half with more Yankee shots in two games.

Clint Frazier gave Brett Gardner a quick hug as he left the field. Nate Jones had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury.

Hicks scored for 2-1. Frazier flew with a ball in second place, before Giancarlo Stanton got the intended walk.

Gleyber Torres hit a short run to the center of the field and Mike Ford, in his first game of the season, went on four pitches for another run.

Nicaraguan Jonathan Loaisiga (2-0) took the victory, and the Cuban Aroldis Chapman ensured the rescue.
