UPS United Parcel Service Inc.,
rose 3.7% in morning trading, enough to keep pace with the Dow Jones Transportation Average DJT,
winners, after the package delivery giant reported better results earlier than expected in the fourth quarter. In the post-win conference call with analysts, CEO Carol Tomé said, “So let’s just address the elephant in the room, which is the biggest customer.” Out of 19 million customers, Tomé told Amazon.com Inc. was the highest, with a share of the e-commerce giant’s total revenue rising to 13.3% in 2020 from 11.6% in 2019. With UPS it reported total revenue in 2020 of $ 84.63 billion , indicating that Amazon accounted for $ 11.26 billion in 2020 revenue, up from $ 8.59 billion a year a year ago. UPS shares have gained 1.6% in the last three months, while Amazon shares have advanced 13.9%, Dow shipments have reached 10.8% and the Dow Jones DJIA industry average,
rose by 13.4%.
