“A lot of people want the Johnson & Johnson vaccine because it’s just one shot,” said Mark Sevco Children’s Hospital President, who leads UPMC’s mass vaccination efforts.

You must have an appointment, and UPMC staff will administer the vaccine.

“Fast, efficient, reliable,” says Sevco. As effective as Moderna and Pfizer in preventing and illuminating hospitalizations and deaths. So it really is a high-demand vaccine. ”

This clinic is for adults only. All those in priority groups 1A, 1B and 1C are eligible.

“We will vaccinate about 700 individuals per hour,” says Sevco.

The children’s hospital, in partnership with the Pittsburgh penguins and Allegheny County health department, plans to immunize 12,000 people.

“Six thousand new meetings a day,” says Sevco.

Everyone who gets vaccinated should wait 15 minutes in their car and be checked by nurses and volunteers.

“It’s kind of like the vaccine race for variance. We really need to take care of ourselves and vaccinate people, ”Sevco said.

The clinic will take place on April 14 and April 15. If you do not have an appointment, you can still register online. This way, when availability opens on other sites, you can schedule.
