Universal Orlando reaches capacity within minutes of opening

ORLANDO, Florida (KABC) – Universal Orlando Resort wrote on Twitter that it reached its capacity just 10 minutes after opening Wednesday – as well as Tuesday.

Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure managed to arrive after 8 in the morning and stopped admitting new guests. The parks also reached capacity shortly after opening on Tuesday. Guests were asked to check in advance before going out to the parks.

Health officials are monitoring the size of the crowd because of COVID-19.

They say Florida has a positivity rate of over 26%.

This means that more than one in four coronavirus tests are returned positive.

But public health experts say there is no evidence that COVID-19 outbreaks have been linked to a theme park.

The resort wrote on Twitter that it started receiving new guests again until the early afternoon.
