Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot told investors yesterday that the company is considering changing its name. Rainbow Six Carantine due to the negative connotations of subtitling while the world is still in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic.

“We create a product that is actually … as it is called today, it is something we evaluate and we will see what will come in the future on [Rainbow Six Quarantine]Guillemot said after being asked if he considered delaying the game because of his name (h / t VGC).

When contacted by Kotaku for comments, a Ubisoft representative said the company has nothing to add to Guillemot’s statement.

Although Rainbow Six Carantine was first revealed at E3 2019, life began as. Pioneer, condemned SF project teased in Watch Dogs 2. Since then, the world has been plagued by pandemic concerns over the spread of covid-19, creating an awkward environment for launching a game primarily about the spread of an alien plague.

Ubisoft has not yet announced a release date for Rainbow Six Carantine, but CFO Frédérick Duguet said during the same call for investors that it is still planned to be launched sometime this year.
