The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and the Pontifical Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) have announced the temporary suspension of vaccination day against COVID-19 at their facilities.
Through their Twitter account, both higher education houses have published images announcing the suspension of coronavirus inoculations starting March 15 this year.
“We inform the university community that on Monday, March 15 of this year, we will not conduct the vaccination session against COVID-19, which we developed so successfully at our university, in support of the Ministry of Public Health. and Dominican society “, the statement published by UASD states
In it, the UASD does not specify the reasons for the suspension or when the vaccinations will resume.
“Later we will inform in the same way, the resumption of such an important vaccination day”, the statement concludes.
While PUCMM also posted on Twitter: “Vaccination centers operating on the Santiago and Santo Domingo campuses will not be operational until further notice.”
A few days ago, the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, announced that the government had saved a series of vaccines from the first batch, in order to start the introduction of the second dose of vaccine starting with March 24th.
Also at that time, it was reported that on March 15, a batch of one million vaccines will arrive in the country.
