The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) and the state authorities have agreed to temporarily withdraw 200 students from various hospitals of the entity who, according to the institution, they worked in other areas and not in the Covid-19 area.
According to information from Mexico’s highest school of education, in a data update so far this year, it was reported that cases of infected resident doctors have already been reported with the new coronavirus; However, the number of students in this situation was not specified and it was only commented that his condition was not serious.
The decision was made after it happened a resident physician of UNAM attached to the General Hospital „Dr. José María Rodríguez ”from Ecatepec care died as a result of complications from the disease produced by the SARS-Cov-2 virus and reported to the hospital authorities.
In this regard, UNAM has also decided to withdraw resident doctors until there are better conditions of protection and security.
For its part, the Mexican government reported in a press release that an astonishment was sent to the hospital’s director and head of the Research and Teaching Division for violating detainees’ rights and failing to comply with instructions issued on licensed physicians during the pandemic. of Covid-19.
As for UAEM resident doctors infected with the virus, none were serious, it was pointed out.

UAEM has 1,750 doctors residing in various hospitals in Mexico.
