Two teenage girls charged with murder in the death of an Uber Eats driver

Two teenage girls were charged with murder on Wednesday in the death of an Uber Eats driver they allegedly assaulted and assaulted in Washington DC with a tranquilizer gun, a new report said.

The suspects, aged 13 and 15, are charged with assaulting the 66-year-old driver, Mohammad Anwar, in his car on Tuesday while driving near Nationals Park in the southeast of the city, NBC Washington reported.

Anwar’s gray sedan crashed and fell on its side during the robbery attempt, the report said.

The victim was found on the sidewalk by the police. He was taken to a nearby hospital but could not be rescued.

The two girls were recovered from the wreckage by two National Guard troops who were in the area, according to the station. They were arrested on the spot.

The suspects are charged with murder and carjacking.

Anwar, a father and grandfather, emigrated from Pakistan to the US in 2014, his family told the news station.

“The loss to his family is immeasurable,” said the family.
