Two more private jet brokers caught in the Capitol riot

Two more real estate agents who took a private jet to Washington DC for a Jan. 6 rally that ended in the riot at the Capitol have been arrested.

Jason Lee Hyland, 37, from Frisco, Texas, and Katherine ‘Katie’ Schwab, 32, from Colleyville, were featured in multiple social media posts on the plane they shared with fellow broker Jenna Ryan, which not only attracted attention by bragging about the private flight, but also for posting a video of herself in the middle of the breach saying, “You guys know who to hire for your broker!”

She and her travel companions are facing multiple federal charges.

Hyland and Schwab were both charged on Thursday with entering or remaining in a confined building without legal authority and disorderly conduct on Capitol Grounds.

In an earlier interview, Ryan suggested that Hyland and Schwab had become a couple during the trip. Hyland’s attorney said in a court of law that his client was living with Schwab at the time of his recent hearing, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Hyland organized what he called the “Patriot Flight” from the Denton Enterprise Airport, about 43 miles north of Dallas.

“This will be historic – regardless of the outcome,” he said in a text message to the group, including a fourth person who has not been identified. He claimed to know Ryan and Schwab only through Facebook.

They posted photos of themselves in flight and landing at Manassas Regional Airport in Virginia.

Hyland and Schwab appeared in a live video on Facebook posted by Ryan as they walked to the Capitol from the White House meeting. He said the FBI group returned to their hotel after they arrived at the Capitol and saw no stage and only one food truck.

When they saw on television that the Capitol had been breached, the group took back an Uber and joined the crowd entering the building, authorities said. Schwab can be seen in multiple surveillance photos holding his cell phone in the crowd.

Hyland claimed he asked a Capitol policeman to come in and was told “everyone is.” But he told the FBI that he only stayed for a short while and left after hearing a loud noise resembling a flash. Hyland’s real estate permit is listed as “inactive,” according to the Dallas Morning News, according to state documents.

Schwab told investigators she had been pushed into the building by the crowd.

In a conversation that FBI agents discovered on Facebook, Schwab reportedly said she entered the Capitol and National Guard troops were backing down as the crowd entered.

“They didn’t fight us at all … because they didn’t have to,” Schwab wrote, according to the charges. Referring to a woman who was shot trying to crawl through a broken window near the House room, Schwab continued, “After the girl was shot and killed, we then raised hell.”

She told the FBI she thought Ryan’s videos looked ‘bad’ to members of the group.

Her employer apparently agreed. The Century 21 office where she worked posted to Facebook on January 7 that it was aware of her posts. “Such behavior is not consistent with our company’s policies or values. This agent is no longer associated with Century 21 Mike Bowman. “
