Two months later, “Cyberpunk 2077” hasn’t really changed significantly

It’s been a little over two months since the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, and yet after a series of quick fixes and fixes, in essence, the game and almost all of its problems remain in place and it seems that very little has changed even after all. this time.

The biggest changes I noticed at Cyberpunk 2077 were some adjustments to the visual settings that made the game look a bit better on the Xbox Series X a few weeks after release. But other than that, it was just fixing the errors everywhere, but with hundreds more not it has still been repaired. And while there are some signs of improving the way the game runs on state-of-the-art consoles, it’s still not nearly “good” and I’m not just saying that despite the quick fixes and patches, Sony hasn’t been agreed to sell Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS Store again, resulting in low console sales for January for gaming in general.

In fact, the biggest stories of the last two months have not been positive. The first major patch of the game actually introduced a game error that was bigger than any problem it was trying to fix and needed to be fixed soon. Then, modders discovered a long-running exploit of CDPR until it exposed a vulnerability that could allow people to enter your system through created modes or save files.

Finally, the biggest story of the last two months may be the CDPR’s extended hack, where the stated motivation was retaliation for CDPR’s recent behavior and Cyberpunk issues. The source code of the game was stolen (as well as that of Gwent and The Witcher 3) and it is not clear what long-term problems it can pose. Cyberpunk should get a patch in February that is bigger than the one in January and could solve more significant problems, and yet it is certainly possible that the consequences of this hack will delay this, as resources must now be allocated securing employee source information from source code.

You’ll notice a common thread here, that’s about it It has which has been worked on for the last two months, there have just been solutions for the broken parts of the game. There are no quality of life updates, no need to return to missing, cut or promised content. Nothing like that. And things that seem “buggy”, such as traffic AI or police AI, are much bigger problems, which cannot be solved so quickly, because they represent systemic problems in the game. The quality of life update and new content can be added to the free Cyberpunk DLC later in the spring / summer, which has been delayed due to all these bug fixes / performance fixes. Meanwhile, players expect to have something as simple as the ability to cut their hair in the game.

I’ve been playing and disabling Cyberpunk for the last two months and you can even see how little its PC or console versions have finally changed. Minor improvements here and there and a few search bugs can be avoided, but it is clear that no further delay of 2-3 months would have been enough to fix the game’s problems and would have taken at least a year to combine. the bug. deeper fixes and content issues.

I’ve always said that there’s a basic level of fun here, which is true, otherwise I wouldn’t be on the third V variant. But things are moving very, very slowly here and it’s not clear when a significant change in the game will come. Hopefully it will be with this February patch, which may still be on schedule.
