Two days of mourning in Santo Domingo Norte for the death of evangelical spouses

The Chapter House of the Santo Domingo Norte City Council approved Resolution 23-21 declaring tomorrow, Monday, April 5 and Tuesday, April 6, as days of municipal mourning for the death of the couple of young preachers at the hands of the National Police Officers of Villa Altagracia, Elisa Muñoz and Joel Díaz, who lived in the Cuesta Linda sector of Sabana Perdida.

The measure was adopted in an extraordinary session held practically last Friday and had the favorable vote of the 17 councilors who make up the Capital Hall of the mayor’s office of that demarcation.

A committee of councilors was appointed to visit the families of the young people, and the regional director of the National Police, José Santana Morillo, was asked to place the half-staff flag in all detachments of the municipality, as will be done in local government offices, as sample of the fulfillment of the resolution declaring two days of municipal mourning.

On behalf of the Council of Councilors, its President, Desiderio Muñoz, condemned the fact that the young couple lost their lives, stressing that they were dedicated to carrying the Word of God in the municipality and abroad and that, unfortunately, they died at his hands. . of the policeman.

Carlos Guzmán advocated for a refined national police and called for those who are elected to enter institutions to be permanently educated, because not everyone is trained to manage, let alone carry a weapon.

The deaths of the shepherds took place last Tuesday night when they were returning from a vigil in a community in Vila Altagracia and were intercepted by a police patrol who, without a word, fired on the vehicle they were traveling.
