Turtle Beach, a popular gaming headset manufacturer, purchased Neat microphones, a company that made waves with hers; with his unique-looking microphones for broadcasters and podcasts.

Originally released by music instrument maker Gibson, the Neat’s Widget microphone line looked like something Jessica Rabbit would play in Toontown. Founded by Blue Microphones co-founder Skipper Wise, the company recently launched Bee Line, a collection of bright yellow and black desktop and portable microphones. The engineer behind Blue Microphones, Martins Sulespurens, is also moving to Turtle Beach as part of the acquisition.

“We are entering the growing global streaming and microphone market with two significant advantages – visionary leadership and engineering expertise behind some of the most renowned microphones of the last 30 years and the impressive Neat product line of 2021,” said Juergen Stark, Turtle CEO on the beach. “We’re excited to welcome Skipper Wise, Martins Saulespurens and the rest of the Neat Microphones to the Turtle Beach family.”

Microphones are priced in the range of 140 USD and are intended for digital broadcasters who are looking for a unique, visually stopping microphone with USB capabilities. With the seemingly more popular podcast than ever before, there is a huge demand for an easy-to-use microphone with good sound. The fact that they also look interesting feels almost like a bonus.

The companies did not disclose the terms of the acquisition.
