According to the magistrate, on Wednesday they officially learned about the resolution of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) ordering them to proceed immediately to replace Walter Araujo’s candidacy for deputy for New Ideas (NI), “On the same day, we decided to make the replacement within 5 days. “
Orellana explained the legal procedure that NI must follow for this replacement, which is already established in the Law on Political Parties.

“Once the internal elections have taken place, no changes may be made to the lists of candidates for popularly elected positions, unless the elected do not meet the requirements set out in the Constitution or the Electoral Code, due to the resignation of the candidate in writing or force majeure, in these cases it will be replaced by the person with the highest number of votes in descending order ”, it is shown in article 37-L, the substitute apparatus.
