TSE claims that the place violates art. 179 subsection 2 of the Electoral Code and art. 70 letter d of the Law on Political Parties. The collegiate body also ordered an ex officio sanctioning electoral procedure.
The art. 179 prohibits the use of symbols, colors, slogans, marches and images or photographs of candidates from other political parties or coalitions, as indicated in the Electoral Code, while art. 70 prohibits the use of national symbols in electoral propaganda.
In the resolution, the EST ordered the New Ideas party to refrain from broadcasting, transmitting or broadcasting election propaganda messages that use symbols of other political parties or coalitions in battle, as well as national symbols. Also refrain from broadcasting the spot on social media.
The Court also ordered that these national television channels immediately suspend the broadcast of the spot.
