TSA officers find crystalline methamphetamine at burrito breakfast at Houston Hobby Airport

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – You can add a lot of ingredients to breakfast burritos these days, but usually crystal methamphetamine isn’t one of them.

However, this did not stop TSA officers from finding out exactly this during a checkpoint checkpoint at Hobby Airport on 2 April.

The TSA said they were doing a routine check when they noticed an unidentified knot inside a traveler’s breakfast burrito.

The size of the burrito was so unusual, the TSA asked to continue inspecting it, asking the traveler to open it.

Officers said the person tried to insist it was just a breakfast burrito.

Once the package was opened, authorities said they saw something dark and unusual in the middle of the food that did not match the description given by the passenger.

As the burrito breakfast went through X-rays for a second scan, TSA officers saw what appeared to be black tape and dark wrapping around a large organic mass.

Suspecting that something was illegally hidden in the food, the TSA called the Houston police, who determined that it was crystal methamphetamine.

HPD confiscated the drugs and the passenger was arrested.
