US President-elect Joe Biden has expressed his full confidence in his son Hunter, a frequent target of Republican attacks, after it was revealed last week that he was under federal tax investigation.
During his failed re-election campaign, President Donald Trump launched repeated accusations against Hunter and said the Bidenii were a “corrupt” family and a “criminal enterprise.”
“We have a lot of confidence in our son,” Biden, who sat next to his wife Jill, said in an interview on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
“I’m not worried about any accusation made against him. He used to get to me. I think it’s a bad game, but … as long as it’s good, we’re good,” he said in his first full remark about the issue since the tax probe became public.
