The New York Times reported that the names belong to a list of pardons that the president wants to reveal on Tuesday. The list is likely to include at least 60 pardons or commutations that could eventually exceed 100.
People aware of the calls told the Times that he called some of the recipients and held another meeting on the subject Monday.
Lil Wayne pleaded guilty on a federal firearms load in December, and faces up to 10 years in prison. He was charged with illegally carrying a loaded gun on his trip from California to South Florida in December 2019.
The rapper Met with Trump in October, praising the president’s proposed “ platinum plan ” intended to help the black community.
Silver was convicted twice in 2015 of corruption charges. The former Democratic legislature was convicted up to 78 months in prison in July 2020.
Also on the list, according to The Times, is Sholam Weiss, who was sentenced to more than 800 years in 2000 for racketeering, wire fraud, and money laundering over a fraud scheme that defrauded $ 450 million from an insurance company.
The White House declined to comment on The New York Times and did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill.
Multiple news outlets reported earlier on Monday that the new batch of about 100 pardons will likely cover white-collar criminals and high-profile rappers.
The president pardoned in December and reportedly has the idea of forgive himself and relatives.
