On Wednesday, Twitter temporarily suspended Trump’s account for the first time in connection with posts the president shared about the crowd of his supporters who stormed the Chapter. The platform said the posts violated its policies and asked the president to delete them before regaining access to his account.
A Twitter spokesman said Thursday that the tweets were deleted and, according to Twitter policy, Trump will have access to his account within 12 hours of deletion.
Facebook also suspended Trump’s account as well as his Instagram account on Wednesday for 24 hours after deleting his posts about the Capitol riot.

A Twitter spokesman said the company had no information to share since Thursday morning about extending the suspension on Trump’s Twitter account until the January 20 inauguration.
Wednesday marked the most drastic action the platforms have taken against Trump’s accounts.
The move was triggered by a one-minute video that Trump urged his supporters who were forced to enter the Capitol to go home, but in the video he also repeated unfounded allegations about widespread electoral fraud.
The video was removed by Facebook, Twitter and YouTube until early Wednesday night.
Trump followed a similar text post on Facebook and Twitter, which was also removed later before the platforms blocked Trump’s account.
Against the background of the suspension of his account, Trump issued a statement sent on Twitter by Dan Scavino, the deputy head of the White House communications cabinet, acknowledging the end of his term.
“Even if I do not fully agree with the election result and the facts make me stand out, there will still be an orderly transition on January 20,” Trump said in a statement shared by Scavino. “I have always said that we will continue to fight for “Although only legal votes count. Although this is the end of the largest first term in presidential history, it is only the beginning of our struggle to make America great again!”
The statement was shared just minutes after members of Congress formally tabled the votes of the Electoral College, which shows Biden’s victory, just before 4 p.m.
