The rapper is currently working with community figures and other charities to provide more meals to at-risk residents living in a high-priority designated zip code.

Two of the organizations involved in the effort are the National Association of Christian Churches and the Black Service Chamber.

The February 13-17 North American winter storm, also known as the Uri winter storm, began in the northwest Pacific and quickly made its way to the home state of the Texas composer.

Record-breaking temperatures have been recorded in much of the state, and snowstorms have affected many at-risk residents.

Severe conditions: The Uri winter storm began earlier this month and headed to Scott's home state of Texas, where it brought extreme weather conditions and caused widespread power outages.

Massive power outages also occurred in many cities and communities, leaving thousands without water or electricity during the weather event.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a disaster statement on Feb. 12, which was approved by President Joe Biden two days later.

Although the Texas Electrical Reliability Council restored electricity to about 600,000 Texans on Feb. 17, the situation still remains dire for millions.

As of last Sunday, at least 8.8 million people were still under orders for boiling water, according to NBC News.

Houston and Austin were previously under water restrictions, although both cities were considered to be in a stable situation last week.

Scott founded the Cactus Jack Foundation last year with the intention of enriching the lives of young people in the Houston area.

The foundation’s first initiative was to launch the HBCU Waymon Webster scholarship program, which aimed to cover tuition for students who have been financially affected by the global pandemic.
