Trailer for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Netflix unites Leon and Claire

The zombies have taken over the White House and it’s up to Leon S. Kennedy to save the day in the new trailer for the upcoming Netflix series, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. The new trailer premiered at the Resident Evil Showcase on Thursday, where Capcom revealed what’s next for the franchise.

The new Infinite darkness the trailer should look familiar if you’ve seen some of the series’ previous teasers. While previous teasers made Claire explore what looked like a haunted house, in the new trailer she is in the White House with Leon and the two help President Graham escape.

Infinite darkness takes place two years after the events of Resident Evil 4, when Leon was sent by President Graham to save his daughter, Ashley. Leon is invited to the White House to investigate who could have seized the presidential files, when suddenly the lights go out and a horde of zombies appears. While doing her own investigation, Claire visits the White House, where the two discover that there may be a connection between their two mysteries.

Here is the official synopsis of the Netflix series:

In 2006, there were traces of inadequate access to secret presidential files found in the White House’s computer network. US Federal Agent Leon S. Kennedy is among the group invited to the White House to investigate the incident, but when the lights suddenly go out, Leon and the SWAT team are forced to bring down a horde of mysterious zombies. Meanwhile, TerraSave staff member Claire Redfield encounters a mysterious image drawn by a young boy in a country he has visited, while providing support to refugees. Haunted by this drawing, which appears to be the victim of a viral infection, Claire begins her own investigation. The next morning, Claire visits the White House to request the construction of a social facility. There he has a chance to meet Leon again and takes the opportunity to show him the boy’s drawing. Leon seems to make some sort of connection between the White House zombie outbreak and the strange drawing, but Claire tells him there’s no relationship and leaves. In time, these two outbreaks of zombies in distant lands lead to events that shake the nation to its core.

Eiichiro Hasumi, who worked exclusively with the live action film, directs Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. Veteran composer Yugo Kanno (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Batman Ninja) will provide the score.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will begin in July 2021, but there is even more Resident Evil on the horizon. During the Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom also announced that filming has been completed for the live-action film Resident Evil, which is titled Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City and will be released on November 24. In addition, there is Resident Evil Village, the latest game in the series to be released on May 7.
