This off-season was all about defending for the Chicago Bears. They were involved in almost every quarterback transaction or rumored transaction, but nothing connected for them.
But Chicago’s interest in trading for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is something that has caught fire in the past two weeks, where there is a strong belief that if Wilson had changed, he would have ended up with the Bears.
Chicago has made it clear to Seattle that they are interested in trading for Wilson. But while the Seahawks are listening to those calls, they haven’t really involved teams like the Bears, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
According to Rapoport, it doesn’t look like we’re close to seeing Wilson traded right now.
“Where we are,” he said, “doesn’t seem imminent.”

Wilson has named Bears as one of four potential commercial destinations, but the Seahawks must be willing to make them against the backdrop of the franchise. And while there have been tensions between Wilson and head coach Pete Carroll, it’s hard to imagine them breaking up.
That is, except for an absolute monster of an offer that would allow them to eat $ 39 million in dead money and head to the 2021 season without a quarterback.
“As far as we’re concerned, several teams have called Seattle about him, including the Chicago Bears,” Rapoport said. “If Russell Wilson were traded, you would imagine that Chicago would be involved. They currently don’t have a starting lineup for 2021. They’re exploring all the options, so it makes sense.
“No one I spoke to said that Seattle was actually engaged in any of these discussions. Apparently they did not actively negotiate trade with Russell Wilson. They listened, but did not answer each other. ”
With the Dallas Cowboys signing Dak Prescott again, the Las Vegas Raiders appear to be engaged in front of Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints approaching the expansion of Jameis Winston, which will bring Wilson’s list of favorite destinations. to a single team: Bears.
If Seattle intends to trade Wilson – and take advantage of a desperate Chicago team – they are running out of time.
