Hugo cried
He made an early double rescue, pushing Salisu’s head and then flying superbly over his gate to stop Adams’ fierce pursuit. We went down to deny Walker-Peters in 12 minutes. He couldn’t get close to Ings’ head from eight feet. 7
Serge Aurier
Beaten by Ings for the Saints striker’s goal in the middle of the hour. Improved in the second half with his defensive efforts, if not adding many in the future. 6
Toby Alderweireld
A sufficiently solid presence in the back and who took care of much of what came his way. 7
Eric Dier
We made some good blocks and other than an unclear moment in the first half was in the top and both central defenders benefited from Ings’ departure. 7

Sergio Reguilon
He went down to the left several times and it was his perfect low ball that Son fired home just for the effort of being cut. I worked hard and won the penalty late for Son to grab the winner. 7
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
A constant noisy presence tried to command the troops. He made several vital interceptions, including a delay in stopping a break for the Saints in overtime. 7
Tanguy Ndombele
A very quiet game of the Frenchman and tried to make a big impact before being replaced by Winks. 5
Young Lo Celso
He confused a wide early effort of the left post. Some very careless games, but which improved slightly as the second half continued and introduced a fine ball to Reguilon for the “goal” of the canceled Son. Replaced shortly by Lamela. 5
Gareth Bale
I tried to make things happen with some nice touches in and around the box, but many times others weren’t on its wavelength. He cut inside and shot at goal at the start of the second half. A better one went, with a fine curling finish an hour after Lucas’ shot deflected. 7
Lucas Moura
He tried to move the ball, but hit it far too often. It was unfortunate that he was called offside for Son’s excluded effort, as McCarthy failed to save Son’s shot, regardless of the Brazilian’s position. Lots of effort, but so little quality. 5
Heung-min’s son
I thought he put Spurs ahead with a clear end in the second half just for Lucas to hide the goalkeeper’s vision from an offside position. He still scored, however, with a compound penalty, two minutes before the end. Not his best remote performance, but he did the business when it mattered. 6

Harry blinks
He came and added a bit of momentum to the midfield in the second half. 6
Erik Lamela
He replaced Lo Celso and tried to lead Spurs on the field in the last 10 minutes. 5
Steven Bergwijn
He replaced Bale late. N / A
