In many ways, CES 2021 was different from any of us in the Gear team we have ever participated in. Instead of running through Las Vegas, rummaging through everything and getting really dehydrated, we sat down at home and watched the briefing after the briefing on Zoom. But CES is still the festival of spending money. It is designed to invoke your most basic desires – whether it’s a refined gaming chair, an affordable laptop or just a car to sprinkle yourself portions of delicious fro-yo. These are our favorite things on display at CES that you can buy right now to scratch the itch.

Moft Snap-On Stand
Photo: Moft- Moft Snap-On Stand for $ 30: I want this. This fixed holder can hold the iPhone in portrait, landscape or “floating” mode and has space to hold three books. We’ve also included it in our guide to the best iPhone 12 accessories.
- Moto G Play for $ 170: Motorola has refreshed its range of budget phones, which we really liked. The updates are quite small, but the price is still low. For a more in-depth look, see our guide to the best cheap phones.
- Usually (free): This small and useful application is the first product from a company working on a 100% private “next word prediction engine”. The distinctive honeycomb keyboard claims to reduce typing errors by up to 80%.
- MaskFone for 50 USD: If you wear a mask in public and receive calls, you may need a (possibly oversized) mask with an N95 filter, a built-in microphone, and attached headphones. Or, you know, maybe not. See our guide for our favorite masks if you want a few possibilities.
- V-Moda M-200 ANC for 500 USD: We did not have the opportunity to try these expensive headphones personally, but V-Moda never disappointed us. We expect this new model from the design-forward company to be one of the best noise canceling headphones of the year.
- JBL Reflect Mini NWC TWS headphones for 150 USD: The latest JBL training buds have a reflective tape for people who like to be outdoors at night or at dusk. They also eliminate noise and have an IPX7 water resistance. We didn’t have the opportunity to try them either, but we liked other JBL buds.
