Tony DeAngelo played his last game with the Rangers, CEO Jeff Gorton told reporters on Monday.
DeAngelo, the defender with offensive but hot talent, eliminated the resignations on Monday after being appointed after a post-game confrontation with the goalkeeper Alexandar Georgiev, after the loss of the extra time in front of Penguins on Saturday.
The rangers have assigned DeAngelo to their taxi crew and are expected to try to change the 25-year-old.
A pick from the first round of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2014, DeAngelo’s production – including 53 impressive points in 68 games last season – has consistently taken a back seat to the negative antiques that attract attention.
DeAngelo has been suspended several times during his hockey career.
He signed a two-year extension, with $ 9.6 million, in the last off-season with Rangers, his third team since being recruited.
