The next entry into the Call of Duty franchise will take place during World War II, and the game is tentatively titled “World War II: Vanguard“According to sources for Modern Warzone, the game will also have an impact on Call of Duty: War zone, and will see the weapons and assets shared with the title in a similar way to Black Ops Cold War. Last month, Modern Warzone reported that Call of Duty 2021 is under development from Sledgehammer Games, which would be appropriate, as the developer previously worked Call of Duty: WWII. Clearly, the team has a little experience with setting!
Modern Warzone seems confident in its supply, but the piece that reports these details also mentions that previous rumors indicated a 1950s setting for the next Call of Duty. Since the end of World War II in 1945, it would not make much sense! Modern Warzone speculates that WWII: Vanguard it could be set in an alternative chronology in which the war went further. In the opinion of this writer, it is also possible Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard it could be a game that deals specifically with events directly after the war, such as the Rogue Axis forces. Unfortunately, everything is just guesswork, right now!
Quite interesting, World War II: Vanguard it’s not the only new Call of Duty game that could be in development. A prominent Call of Duty leaker also suggested that an independent Call of Duty: Zombies game could be in the works from Activision. More details are pretty thin at the moment, including which team could develop the game. If it turns out right, Call of Duty fans could have a lot more content to enjoy in the future!
For now, readers are advised to take these reports with a grain of salt until Activision makes some sort of official announcement. Sometimes sources get incorrect information, and plans can often change during development. Black Ops Cold War just released a few months ago, so it will probably take a little longer before the publisher reveals something concrete about his next game Call of Duty.
