IKEA is now making small houses. And fortunately for owners triggered by furniture everywhere, you won’t need the disposable Allen key. It is already built.
The Swedish furniture company is experimenting with prefabricated houses through their Ikea Tiny Home project, selling 187 square meters of homes on flatbed trailers.
The tiny effort of the house is a partnership with Vox Creative and the builder RV Escape.
Currently, the only model available is the IKEA version of Escape’s Boho XL Wide, which starts at $ 47,550. These are 368 POÄNG chairs, for anyone to count.
Features of the IKEA version – which aim for neutral tones, sustainability and a certain touch – include kitchen cabinets made from recycled plastic bottles, built-in furniture and a folding desk, according to Lonely Planet. XL takes place for a queen-size bed, as well as living, kitchen and bathroom spaces, according to Escape’s promotional video.

“As we got started, we really listed all the needs of the space,” Abbey Stark, IKEA’s senior interior design leader, said in a promotional video. “How, how do you project around the wheel well and the mechanics of the house? I wanted to get renewable, reusable and recycled materials when possible to make the space functional and beautiful. ”
Small houses are fashionable among the ecological minimalist types and have even managed to remain fashionable through the pandemic, when the last thing anyone wants is a smaller space.
But with perks, including the trailer bed, compostable toilet and solar panels, the small IKEA home has the work attraction of everywhere that many have been looking for during the pandemic.
