Two thirds of the trio-star-director who made the year 2017 Call me by your name a romantic success story comes together for a film about cannibalism – but not the two-thirds you might expect. Which means, Deadline reports that Timothée Chalamet and Luca Guadagnino potentially team up with actress Taylor Russell for Bones & All, a new film about a young woman who begins to search for her roots after realizing that she has a deep compulsion to eat her romantic partners. This is another important stage in Russell’s current career in Netflix Lost in spaceand which won accolades in 2019 for her lead role in the age-old drama of Trey Edward Shults Waves. But while we’d like to focus here on Russell’s continuous climb up the movie star’s main ladder – potentially working with He sighed the director and the prolific Chalamet – there’s, uh, another subject that’s hiding here. One that, for better or worse, causes the discussions about his two collaborators who are engaged in a film about romantic cannibalism to distract tonight.

And, look: We tried, very hard, not to highlight the “supposed to eat people” aspects the scandal that currently surrounds Chalamet and Guadagnino’s former collaborator Armie Hammer lately, especially because all the accusations “I want to eat your ribs” tend to prevent or hide the accusations of abusive behavior and sexual manipulation that were also filed against the actor, both in a series of DMs on Instagram which he would have sent, as well as by former romantic partners. (Hammer denies everything, for what he deserves.) But also: It is deep strange (even bizarrely coincidentally) that his most important colleagues in recent years would release a new film about someone who wants to eat the people she is in love with at the moment.

Certainly Hammer’s estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, seems to agree; as noted by Paper, Chambers would have commented on a post on Instagram talking about a recent project with a succinct “No. Words. ”

Anyway! Bones & All is based on a 2016 novel by Camille DeAngelis; Dave Kajganich wrote the screenplay. Chalamet still has Dune on the horizon, of course, Guadagnino’s latest project was the HBO TV series We are who we are.
