Tigers separated Francisco Venegas and Juan Sánchez Purata for violating the Liga MX sanitary protocol to prevent COVID-19. Both players left the team’s concentration before the match on the 14th against America.

Both players will be subject to appropriate sanctions, starting with separation for 10 days or until they give negative results for Coronavirus. In addition, they could be fined 100,000 pesos if it is shown that they participated in an event not authorized or organized by the Nuevo León club.

“In accordance with the sanitary protocol established by Liga MX and the internal regulations of Club Tigres, we inform that the players Francisco Venegas and Juan José Sánchez Purata were separated from the concentration of Club Tigres.

“Both elements will be subject to the sanctions set out in the internal regulations of the MX Club and League,” the UANL club said in a statement.

The cats will look for a victory in this commitment that will allow them to stay in the rematch zone, after being currently in the tenth row of the general classification.
