In this week‘top stories: Apple confirms its special event in April, rumors about a new Apple Pencil continue, iPhone 12 MagSafe accessory leaks and much more. Read on for all of this week’s top stories and more.
Apple Event confirmed
This year, Apple is organizing an event on April 20 and teasing it with the slogan “Spring Loaded”. The event could include a new iPad Pro, AirTags and more. The event will take place on April 20 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET. Due to the ongoing pandemic COVID-19, this event will be completely virtual and will be broadcast directly from Apple Park.
You’ll be able to stream the event via the Apple website, YouTube, and the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. And, as usual, 9to5Mac will have full coverage of everything Apple announces during the event.
Apple Pencil 3
A couple of rumors this week suggested that Apple will announce a new Apple Pencil at Tuesday’s event. Based on the leaks we’ve seen so far, the Apple Pencil 3 seems to be very similar to the second-generation Apple Pencil, but with one key change: returning to a glossy finish.
There may be, or probably even be, other changes under the hood, such as new features, gestures, or greater accuracy. The changes could also be reserved to enhance the experience with the mini-LED display that comes on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
iPhone 12 MagSafe leaks
Apple regularly updates its iPhone 12 cases with new colors, and the images released this week provided a close look at what to expect this week.
I had previously seen cases of pistachios, capri blue, melon and amethyst leaks, and new images leaked this week also revealed a new darker yellow, a burnt orange and a light bluish purple that looks like perwinkle.
You can take a closer look at all these new cases in our full coverage right here.
iPhone 14 and more
Finally, Apple’s trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo provided a lot of details about the iPhone 2022 and 2023 details. See our coverage below:
