In the classic Office fashion, it’s a prank on Dwight. An elaborate, theatrical prank, one that apes matrix in an extended homage, including mistakes in matrix, Agents and a range of pills. presenting the late Hugh Dane as Hank as “Dorpheus”, Morpheus’ brother, is a stupid and fun little reference, with a nice twist at the end.
It may not be the funniest cold opening I’ve ever seen, but the devotion here is amazing. The fact that leather chairs look largely correct is what it becomes me. These are very iconic chairs.
