This PS2 with PS2 theme is better than the real thing

PlayStation 5 was just released a little over a month ago, but some fans are already looking to the future and thinking about what new iterations of the console could appear in the future. One of these ideas that has recently made its way onto the internet combines the look of the iconic PlayStation 2 with the latest generation console, and the marriage between the two is quite amazing.

Seen on Reddit, a user named u / whattheefth has developed an immaculate PS5 console with a PS2 theme. Decorated in black, the console resembles the PS2 look and even comes with the colorful PlayStation logo on the back, inscribed on the bottom of the front plate. The DualSense controller also received the same treatment and looks incredibly similar to the colorful DualShock 2 buttons and all. This vision was put together as one that Sony could choose to create for the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation, which is about to sweat on the road.

Obviously, it is worth pointing out ten times that this model is not real and it is just that – a model. However, there is a precedent for Sony to actually launch a console like this based on what I’ve seen it do in the past.

For those who don’t remember, Sony launched a 20th anniversary edition of the PlayStation 4 in 2014 to celebrate the brand’s two-decade launch. This version of the PS4 was meant to resemble the original PlayStation, just like this new iteration made by the PS5 fan. The only downside is that Sony has created only 12,300 versions of the console worldwide, which makes it quite limited.

The main problem here is that if Sony decides to make a PlayStation 5 at the age of 30, we’ll wait quite a while to find out about it. PlayStation is not celebrating its 30th anniversary until 2024, which means that any type of limited edition console, such as the one we saw here, could be up to four years away.

However, if Sony is already putting together ideas to celebrate such an occasion, you should definitely take inspiration from it, because it looks spectacular. The only thing needed to bring this fictional console together would be the beloved PS2 boot sound that will start once it starts.

So what do you think about this fan-made PS5 modeled on the PS2? Would you like to buy one of these if Sony released it in a few years? Give me your thoughts in the comments or send me a message on Twitter at @ MooreMan12 let’s talk more.
