This Massachusetts college is among the first to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine – NBC Boston

Northeastern University says it is one of the first colleges in the country to administer doses of coronavirus vaccine to staff members.

Massachusetts has sent about 200 doses of Modern vaccine to school, about half of which have already been administered, officials say.

The state gave it to the school so that it can administer the vaccine to those who fall into the first group of the state that qualifies to receive one, which includes health workers.

Officials say those who were inoculated on Tuesday are working at testing centers in the Northeastern and building its health counseling services. About 100 people have already received the first round of vaccine.

School officials anticipate that it will receive both COVID-19 Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, depending on the supply. But as more come, he hopes that at some point the school will be able to offer at least 1,000 photos a day.
