Things you can do with the new executive order starting today

Today begins the 30 days of validity of the new executive order signed by Governor Pedro Pierluisi in connection with COVID-19. The measures announced on Tuesday ease some of the restrictions that were in place during December.

Curfew

Pierluisi extended the time in which citizens can move freely on the streets. As of today, coverage is in effect from 11pm to 5am

In addition, there will be no “lock” or total closure on Sunday, so the coverage will be the same as on weekdays, and companies will be able to open in accordance with the rules that apply on other days.

Beaches, ports and spas

Bodies of water, such as beaches, rivers, marinas, spas and more, can be used by bathers during set hours.

The consumption of alcoholic beverages is forbidden in any of these places, and people will not be able to socialize with others who do not belong to their family unit.

Groups should stand 10 feet apart.

The masks must remain on while the bathers are out of the water.

The use of sun loungers, parasols and coolers will be permitted.

On boats or boats that are used for recreational purposes, they may not be occupied by persons outside the family unit.

It will be able to operate with a capacity of 30%, provided that they comply with the physical distance protocol and, if they cannot comply with it, the business will have to reduce its capacity.

Due to the change in coverage, companies will be able to stay open until 22:00 every day.

Sports and recreational activities

These provisions have not been changed. All sports must be done outside the curfew nest hours and only through individual exercises, without physical contact.

Religious events

They will be allowed seven days a week at the agreed time for coverage and with a maximum occupancy of 30%.

Discos, bars and hammocks

Game halls, theaters, bars, discos, concert halls, recreation centers or any other similar continue to be closed 24 hours.

Government operations

They will continue to perform functions and provide services.

The other provisions continued as set out in the previous orders. This includes isolation orders on contact with a COVID-positive person for 14 days or for at least 10 days in detention if they are infected.

The governor assured that he will evaluate the data and statistics in the next two weeks to decide whether to amend this executive order or leave it in force for the stipulated 30 days.
