The publication of Resolution 1 of March 3, 2021, which “temporarily establishes and until the lifting of the national state of emergency, the minimum score for passing the basic certification exam in medicine”, nothing has gone down well and is preparing to generate new controversy.

According to the resolution, which was published in Official Gazette as of Friday, March 5, it is established that the minimum passing score for the basic certification exam in medicine is 360, which corresponds to the equalized percentage of 34.5%.

The second article states that the percentage will be reconsidered by the Interinstitutional Council for Basic Certification in Medicine, once the state of emergency is lifted.

In 2019, a resolution established that starting with May of that year, the equalized passing score of the basic medicine certification exam was 405, equivalent to the equalized percentage of 42.00%.

Then, in another resolution, number 3 of 12 June 2020, it was established that the equal percentage of approval for the basic certification exam in medicine is 41.5%.

There have already been reactions on Twitter. Jorge Sinclair (@ jorgesinclair05) wrote that, “ if it were a school where the grade is based on 5, the promotion grade would be 1.7. Yes, one with seven”.

In turn, the doctor Julio Sandoval (@DrJulioSandoval), reacted and wrote that: “ Decreasing the score on the medical certification exam is detrimental to people’s health. Who came up with this? Looks like it’s made for someone. Please reconsider!”.
