Fiduciaria Reservas and the Directorate-General for Public-Private Partnerships (DGAPP) have launched the Pro-Pedernales Trust, an initiative that will regulate and promote investments and service infrastructures that have the potential to influence the tourism and economic development of the province.
The act of signing the Trust was led by Samuel Pereyra, General Manager of Banreservas and Chairman of the Board of Trust Reserves; Sigmund Freund, executive director of the DGAPP; and Andrés Vander Horst, general manager of Fiduciaria Reservas.
„Reserva Familia, through its administrator, puts all its human and technical collaboration at the service of this unique development initiative for its success. Among the most important initiatives we need to implement is the construction of an airport and over 10,000 rooms in hotel complexes.“Pereyra said, according to a statement.
Pereyra explained that the joint work aims to encourage public-private investment, substantially stimulate the economy of Pedernales and contribute to job creation, activation of trade, crafts and small industry.
The executive director of public-private partnerships, Sigmund Freund, said that “once the Trust is signed, the necessary legal vehicle is implemented to articulate the public-private partnership project that will support the public initiative for the development of sustainable tourism in this province.”
“This signature is a sign of responsibility for the commitments made by the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, with the country, especially with this southern province. It is the will and priority of the Dominican state to create a sustainable mechanism that ensures a transparent, efficient and financially viable management for the development of the Pedernales area and the promotion of tourism and its related activities in this province “, commented Freund.
The Pro-Pedernales Trust was born in the decree 724-20, of the president Luis Abinader, who conceived The development plan for the southwest, which aims to turn that region into a model destination, with a diversified tourism that preserves the environment while affecting the regional economy, employment and improves the quality of life of its inhabitants.
